About Michelle

What do talcum powder and volcanos have in common? They both erupt into a gorgeous mess and so do I. Anyone who knows me, knows my love for getting messy. I love to dabble with media and experiment with anything in my reach. As a child, I would mix water, food coloring and talcum powder to make eyeshadow. As I grew, I learned to knit, sewed my own clothes and started my own successful catering company before the age of 16. Later, I entered the corporate world and still found time to feed my creative side. I began my current path in 1995 following a trip to Costa Rica. I went to view the Arenal Volcano, only to discover it was hidden by clouds. Returning home, I decided to put my photos in an album and when I realized I didn’t have any pictures of the volcano, I searched the internet to see what I could find. Lo and behold, I stumbled across the world of scrapbooking and rubber stamping. It was my introduction to this new world and I haven’t looked back since! I am a Copic and Ranger Certified Educator. Before owning “Everything Scrapbook & Stamps” in West Palm Beach, Florida, I traveled extensively worldwide and loved to collect unusual items to incorporate into my art. Born and raised in England, I currently reside in Florida with my husband and two rascally parrots.

week 23 of the Challenge

It is week 23 and the word this week is Angelina Fibers

Week 22 – it’s a Seahorse

yep our word is Seahorse and I made a page in my Journal  I feel like I am barely hanging on to everything I have to do!

Cuba Cruise

In June I taught on a Cruise Ship heading to Cuba.

I taught only two classes on this ship

One was a scrapbook and the other was a Mixed Media Explorers suitcase.

Cuba is a beautiful country with lovely people, magnificent foliage and old interesting decaying buildings.

Look at the patina on this wall.  This would make a great background for an art journal

I would love to go back to Cuba and explore some more!

time for Week 21

Inktense Pencils – how I heart these!

Week 20 for the challenge

The word this week is telephone. (and one of my favorite things are old english phone booths. I have a couple of them in the store.  One day I will have a real one – do you hear that Universe?)

Week 19 and it is time for the challenge

Deli Paper is the word for this week.  This is something I love to print on. It is stronger than tissue paper and almost melts away when added as collage in your journal.

Week 18 and it is a Mermaid

Mermaids are so popular lately.  We sell stamps, dies, paper like crazy at the store.  As long as it has a mermaid on it, it is popular.

I decided to make a journal that is a little different.

A day with Seth Apter

Seth Apter was in town teaching workshops at the store.  I managed to play hookey from the store again this year and we decided to visit Mounts Botanical Gardens and an Old Church

Mounts Botanical Garden is located in Palm Beach and this was my first visit there.  They had an exhibition of Washed Ashore – Art to Save the Sea.

This was a horrifying but fascinating exhibit.  The Artists made some fabulous art but it is made entirely from debris washed ashore from the ocean.

The art is made from all kinds of plastic:  Toilet Seats, Bouys, Flip Flops, Childrens Toys

Some natural beauty.  Inside a flower20180521_105401

This one was the most disturbing to me.  All along the logs of the starfish were bullet casings!20180521_105219 20180521_104753After we visited the gardens we decided to have lunch at a local Mexican Restaurant and had just enough time before his flight to go and visit Bethesda By the Sea

Bethesda by the Sea is an old church on the Island of Palm Beach and has some magnificent stonework and gardens
